Les m\u00e9decins ont dit que sa meilleure chance de gu\u00e9rison \u00e9tait une greffe de moelle osseuse, mais apr\u00e8s des ann\u00e9es recherches approfondies aucun donneur compatible n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Un nouvel espoir arrive pour Laith en octobre 2012 avec la naissance de sa petite s\u0153ur. Son sang du cordon ombilical contient une riche quantit\u00e9 des m\u00eames cellules que celles pr\u00e9sentes dans moelle osseuse et qui sont compatible avec l\u2019ADN de son fr\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>La famille c\u2019est adress\u00e9e \u00e0 Nottingham, o\u00f9 se trouve Future Health Biobank, la plus grande et premi\u00e8re banque de cellules souches compl\u00e9tement accr\u00e9dit\u00e9e en Angleterre et en Europe. Les tests ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que l\u2019\u00e9chantillon n\u2019\u00e9tait pas partiellement compatible mais compl\u00e9tement compatible avec Laith et contenait suffisamment de cellules souches pour \u00eatre utilis\u00e9. L\u2019\u00e9chantillon \u00e9tait pr\u00eat et attendait que la condition de Laith soit assez stable pour que le docteur accepte la transplantation.<\/p>\n<p>A la fin du mois d\u2019 avril, le moment tant attendu est arriv\u00e9 et l\u2019\u00e9chantillon a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9 du stockage par Future Health Biobank. La transplantation a eu lieu \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital \u00ab\u00a0King Hussein Cancer Centre in Jordan\u00a0\u00bb le dimanche 20 mai et tout c\u2019est bien pass\u00e9 mais il a fallu attendre quelques semaines pour que les m\u00e9decins soient s\u00fbrs que ce soit un succ\u00e8s complet. La transplantation a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par le Dr. Ayad Hussain, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 en charge des soins de Laith, pendant quelques temps.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous sommes ravis d\u2019avoir lib\u00e9r\u00e9 un \u00e9chantillon pour le traitement en m\u00eame temps que nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons notre dixi\u00e8me anniversaire\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Roger Dainty MBE, le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Future Health Angleterre. \u00ab\u00a0D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but, nous nous sommes appel\u00e9s un centre familial.
