Celice v trebu\u0161ni slinavki, ki proizvajajo inzulin, so pri bolnikih z to boleznijo uni\u010dene. Kar povzro\u010di veliko te\u017eav z imunskim sistemom in tudi resne okvare organov, kot je odpoved ledvic ali kap. Zato ni presenetljivo, da so raziskovalci posku\u0161ali razmno\u017eiti te \u017eivljenjsko pomembne celice v laboratoriju.<\/p>\n<p>V preteklosti znanstvenikom ni uspelo programirati mati\u010dne celice na na\u010din, da bi se te razvile v odrasle beta celice, posledi\u010dno se te celice niso ustrezno odzivale na nivo glukoze v krvi in niso ustrezno proizvajale inzulina. Znanstveniki na Univerzi v Kaliforniji, San Francisko pa so na\u0161li re\u0161itev. Pluripotentne mati\u010dne celice so gojili v posodah z metodo, ki je do sedaj \u0161e ni nih\u010de preizkusil.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Klju\u010den princip v biologiji je, da oblika sledi funkciji, zato smo dobili idejo, da je lahko klju\u010dnega pomena za ustrezen razvoj beta celic oblikovanje oto\u010dkov<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><cite>&#8211; Gopika Nair, PhD, UCSF Diabetes Center<\/cite><\/p>\n<p>Mati\u010dne celice trebu\u0161ne slinavke so umetno lo\u010dili in jih oblikovali v grozde &#8211; oto\u010dke, in tako se je njihov razvoj nadaljeval. Odzvale so se na nivo sladkorja v krvi in za\u010dele proizvajati inzulin v roku parih dni &#8211; kot odrasle celice, ki proizvajajo inzulin &#8211; kot se \u0161e nikoli ni zgodilo v laboratoriju.<\/p>\n<p>Raziskovalci v UCF pospe\u0161eno delajo na razvoju terapije za diabetes tipa 1 z uporabo teh mati\u010dnih celic, in na ta na\u010din lahko bomo lahko v bodo\u010de odpravili potrebno po presajanju trebu\u0161ne slinavke.
