Celebrating the opening our stem cell laboratory in the UAE

We’re proud to announce that Future Health Group (FHG) and Future Health Biobank GCC (FHGCC) have opened a new stem cell laboratory and storage facility in the heart of Dubai Healthcare City.

With a laboratory in the UK, and storage facilities in the UK and Switzerland, this latest addition to our portfolio is a Dubai Health Authority licenced laboratory and cryogenic storage facility. The laboratory began processing samples in late 2023, allowing parents in the Middle East to store their precious stem cells closer to home.

The Future Health Biobank brand has been trusted by UAE parents, hospitals, and healthcare professionals alike since opening the UAE office over a decade ago. As one of the world’s largest and most accredited stem cell banks, customers of FHGCC can benefit from the same commitments to quality that 22 years of experience FHG brings.

Stem cells from the umbilical cord blood are currently used in over 80 standard therapies for illnesses including some leukaemias, anaemias, inherited disorders, and solid tumours. Storing to cells works like a biological insurance policy, giving parents peace-of-mine that should they need them, they are stored exclusively for their family and can be transported to any transplant centre in the world.

Our laboratory also brings UAE parents further opportunities to capture even more potential at their baby’s birth. These include exosome, amnion, and placenta tissue storage; all featuring in clinical trials to explore the potential for future therapeutic use.

Leon Staff, Managing Director of Future Health Group:

“Future Health Biobank has long been an established brand within the UAE and a popular choice for parents choosing to store their family’s stem cells.

“Serving as a Middle Eastern extension of Europe’s largest privately-owned stem cell bank, Future Health GCC extends FHG’s commitment to being a pioneering force in the stem cell market.

“This is the latest in a long line of developments for FHG as we continue our dedication to allowing parents access to such a potentially life-saving service throughout the world.”
